Dr Frank Appah, PhD, MD
Medical Director, Adolescent PHP/IOP
LiftWell is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr Frank Appah to adolescent psychiatric director. Dr Appah served as the Unit Chief for the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he specialized in the care of individuals with mood, anxiety, personality, psychotic, and substance use disorders. In September of 2018, Dr. Appah received St.Vincent’s Medical Center’s St. Vincent De Paul Award as “Physician of the Year.”
Dr. Appah combines conventional psychiatry with nutritional therapies to achieve optimal brain health for his clients. His services include genetic testing to optimize psychotropic therapy and and laboratory studies to address metabolic issues and micronutrient deficiencies. Dr. Appah also collaborates with clinical nutritionists to incorporate dietary interventions into the treatment plan of his clients. In addition to direct patient care, Dr. Appah is an instructor with the Yale School of Medicine.
